Every year Mercer reveals the cities and countries across the globe that continue to create a quality lifestyle for those who live in them. Their list is determined by safety, climate, healthcare, well-being, and cost of living to mention a few criteria.  As it stands, Brisbane has notably jumped 2 spots in the list, from 37th to 35th; showing vast improvement in the quality of lifestyle it offers.

A climate for living

Brisbane offers a warm, subtropical climate that is easily conducive to outdoor activities centred around the river, beaches and parks. Some of the popular places include the City Botanic Gardens, cliffs at Kangaroo Point, and the South Bank Parklands.

Schools and universities

Brisbane is home to a myriad of top-quality schools. The University of Queensland has ranked 47th in the QS World University Rankings, revealing its world-standing of high education.

First-class healthcare

Australia is renowned for having the second-best healthcare system in the world. Their universal healthcare system is known as ‘Medicare’. Brisbane is considered the healthcare hub of Queensland boasting 30 private and 20 private hospitals and medical centres. The Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital is the largest within the Southern hemisphere.
